A look at some upcoming performances at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre

As colder weather approaches and we all start to look for indoor entertainment, here are some of the upcoming performances scheduled to take place at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre (PAC). 

James Barker Band on Nov. 5 

The James Barker Band is a Canadian country group formed in Woodville, Ontario in 2013. Fueled only by “friendship, grit and a shared love for storytelling,” the James Barker Band went from playing local bars to headlining sold out shows across the whole of North America and Europe.  

Playing Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Partridge Hall, tickets start at $44.  

The Cooper Brothers on Nov. 9 

The Cooper Brothers are a Canadian southern rock band founded in Ottawa, Ontario and have been active since 1974. Veterans of the genre, The Cooper Brothers celebrate southern rock through their performance of classic hits from the era.  

Playing Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Partridge Hall, tickets start at $33.  

The Tenors on Nov. 15 

The Tenors, or as they were formerly known, The Canadian Tenors, are a vocal group that have been performing operatic pop music since 2007. Known worldwide for their “powerful harmonies and dynamic stage presence,” The Tenors sing songs in English, French, Spanish and Italian.  

Playing Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. in Partridge Hall, tickets start at $125 and range to $299 per person.  

Women Fully Clothed on Nov. 20 

Women Fully Clothed is a Canadian live sketch comedy troupe made up of four women who tour all over the world. Selling out theatres in Toronto, Chicago, New York, LA, Las Vegas and many more cities, this group explores the funniest moments of life, making the crowd laugh so hard that they cry.  

Playing Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Partridge Hall, tickets start at $33.  

Colin James Trio on Nov. 26 

The Colin James Trio is a touring group of Canadian blues-rock singers centred around Colin James. In the business for over 30 years, James has 21 studio albums, 8 Juno Awards, 31 Maple Blues Awards and has gone multi-platinum in record sales.  

Playing Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Partridge Hall, tickets start at $55.  

Elisapie on Dec. 1 

Elisapie is a Canadian Inuk musician, broadcaster, documentary filmmaker, activist and actress. Born and raised in Salluit, a village in Nunavik that is only accessible by plane, Elisapie lived through love, loss and colonialism, themes that are present in the award-winning music she creates. 

Playing Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Partridge Hall, tickets start at $24. 

Dallas Smith on Dec. 3 

Dallas Smith is a Canadian country singer and songwriter who has performed both solo and with his hard rock band, Default. During his successful career, Smith has won CCMA Entertainer of the Year three times consecutively, amassing 21 Gold-certified singles, nine Platinum-certified singles and four Gold-certified records, with more than 640 million global streams.  

Playing Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Partridge Hall, tickets start at $70.  

Stars on Dec. 7 

Stars is a Canadian indie pop/rock band from Montreal, Quebec. They have been active since 2000, releasing nine albums and several EPs. Coming to the PAC for a special holiday show, Stars is ready to celebrate, commiserate and sing amongst pals.  

Playing Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Partridge Hall, tickets start at $44.  

The Music of a Charlie Brown Christmas on Dec. 8 

Held by the Niagara Jazz Festival, The Music of a Charlie Brown Christmas is a take on the classic Christmas film of the same name to bring festive cheer to St. Catharines. 

Playing Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Patridge Hall, tickets start at $33.  

KUNÉ World on Dec. 10 

KUNÉ is an eleven-piece collective of ten immigrant musicians and one Métis-Canadian. Capturing the essence of living in Toronto, KUNÉ’s sound is diverse and rich.  

Playing Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Patridge Hall, tickets start at $24.

Across all of horror, who’s the best slasher villain?  

The horror genre has amassed numerous legendary characters over the course of its rich history, many of whom have managed to remain relevant in pop culture for decades. Despite the array of sub-genres within horror, no group of characters have managed to stand out quite like slasher villains.
