Volume 1
The first volume of Brock's student newspaper began right after Governor-General Georges Vanier opened Brock's doors for the first time in 1964. Our first mascot, "Sir Gite," is prominently featured on the cover of what was then called "The Badger."
Our humble beginnings weren’t mass-produced in a newspaper printing press but typed by hand and run through a duplicator. These early issues were likely not widely distributed but rather pinned to bulletin boards around Brock’s rapidly growing campus and other areas in St. Catharines.
The first issue mentions the inception of a student union — Brock's Student Assembly in those days. The early administration granted two offices for the Student Assembly and "The Badger" to work.
